Slavnenskaya Air Group

Shyrikin group or Slavnoue group or Slavnenskaya Air Group was a military unit belongs to Soviet Air Force send to the polish front and attached to the Tuchachewski's North Front. They base was Slavnoye airfield, and unit had circa 50 airplanes - most were : 40 fighters type : Nieuport 11, 17,21, 24, 6 Sopwith Camel, 3 Spad VII and 3 Farman F . Most pilots were vetarans of Great War and some were even White Russians in nearest past. Group leader was A.D. Shyrikin - famous pilot ( today totally forgotten ) and veteran of Russia Civil War, awarder Order of the Red Banner. Shyrking group was remembered as biggest Soviet airforce unit durign Polish -Soviet War 1920, but also becouse their pilots decided to follow code of honour used by pilots in WWI. They did military funeral for fallen polish pilots who died after being shoot down by one of Group's fighter.
