Konung Gustaf III - Swedish ship of the line

Swedish Flagship the Konung Gustaf III launched 1777 , when Sweden was trying to back to role of local Empire, which was in danger because of rising power of Russia. Swedes spent tons of money to build giant navy with ships like this one. They planned to invade and capture Petersburg and push Russia from the Baltic coast. In 1788 Russian navy was still under construction and it was smaller than Swedish. So Sweden strikes. Russo-Swedish War (1788-1790) was quite strange because most battles were on the sea and most of them ended without any spectacular results. Flagship Konung Gustaf III armed with 70 cannons took part in most battles with Prince Grand Admiral Duke Carl aboard and was heavy damaged few times.
